University of Washington School of Law Service Recognition Award

On October 17, 2002, Mr. Whitson was awarded the 2002 Service Recognition Award by the Law School Alumni Association for his service to the Law School and the Law School Alumni Association over the years.

2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2008 “Super Lawyer” Designation

Lish Whitson has been voted one of the top 100 “Super Lawyers” in the state, based on a vote by Washington State lawyers in each of these years, according to the periodical Washington Law & Politics. In its August/September 2001 edition, the editors wrote “These lawyers may not be able to leap tall buildings in a single bound — then again, maybe they can — but if you need someone to deliver justice for your case, they can be heroes.”

The American College of Trial Lawyers

This organization is limited to trial lawyers who are outstanding and considered the best in their state. Membership is limited to the top 10% of the attorneys in each state. Membership is by invitation only.

The American Board of Trial Advocates

The purpose of this association is to foster and elevate the standards of integrity, honor and courtesy in the legal profession. ABOTA advocates must have a minimum of 50 civil jury trials. Membership is by invitation only.

The King County Bar Association Pro Bono Award

The Award was given to Mr. Whitson for legal services donated to women with breast cancer in their fight to obtain medical treatment.

King County Bar Association Lawyer of the Year Award

On June 22, 2000, Mr. Whitson received this award for his community service, his service to the bar and the quality of his legal practice.
